Obituary
Evea Blanche Powell Neff, daughter of Talitha Jane Goff and Reuel B. Powell was born on March 22, 1887 in Madison county, Iowa and passed from this life on October 17, 1973. She was married to Hugh Roy Neff on January 27, 1914, who preceded her in death on February 20, 1960.
She leaves to mourn five devoted children: one son, Hugh Dale Neff of Bend, Oregon; four daughters, namely Mrs. Opal P. McLaughlin, Des Moines; Mrs. Ruby B. Phelps, Flagstaff, Arizona; Mrs. Norma P. Odisio, Sun Valley, California; and Mrs. Beverly L. Sepe, Glendale, California; one sister, Mrs. Beulah Hibbs, Earlham; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, many nephews, nieces and friends.
Mrs. Neff loved nature, she enjoyed her flower garden and was always interested in living things. She learned to play the piano as a young lady and her interest in music never diminished through the years.
She was a member of the United Methodist church of Tununga, and a member of the J.O.C. Class in the church; she was also a member of the Ann Newman’s of the Izaac Walton Club.
Her keen interest and zest for all of life made her a joy to be around. The memory of her enthusiasm and Christian dignity will always be an inspiration to her children.
Mrs. Neff accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour early in life, and had a strong personal relationship with the Lord, was very active in the work of the church, always willing to give of herself to many phases of the work. She served her husband and children faithfully, inspiring and encouraging them to greater heights of living. She will always be loved and the memory of her will always remain within her loved ones.
Services were held at 11:00 Saturday, October 20, in the Little Church of the Flowers at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
Interment was in Memory Garden Memorial Park in Brea, California beside her husband, Roy Neff.
