Arthur L. Brown, 64, passed away Monday, June 4, at 11:15 p.m. in the Sioux Valley Memorial hospital following a short illness. His home was in Washta, where he had lived the past five years, prior to this at Earlham, Iowa. He was born November 27, 1908 at Riddle, Indiana.

He was married to Eva Winn on May 10, 1938 at Mankato, Minnesota. He had been in the grocery business in Earlham for many years and had also owned a grocery store in Quimby, Iowa prior to his business in Earlham. He retired in 1968, moving to Washta.

He is survived by his wife, Eva, and one daughter: Mrs. Patricia Munson of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, and one brother: Victor L. Brown of Quimby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from the Boothby funeral home. Rev. Charles H. Truitt officiated and burial was in the Sunset View cemetery at Washta.
