Obituary

Carl Oscar Faust, son of Carl Edward and Hilma Mae Hansen Faust, was born June 14, 1902 at Creston, Union County, Iowa, and passed away January 28, 1977 in Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.

On June 16, 1926, he was united in marriage to Lulu Thrailkill at the J. C. Thrailkill home south of Dexter. Ten children were born to this union.

He was engaged in farming all his life. He enjoyed having a large garden and going fishing.

He was a member of the Early Chapel Christian church and the Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lulu, and his parents.

Survivors include his ten children: Mrs. Ray (Marjorie) Larson, Des Moines; Eugene Faust, Sacramento, California; Melvin Faust, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Cecil Faust, Stuart; Francis Faust, Dexter; Mrs. Pat (Rosalie) Longan, Germany; Mrs. Richard (Karen) Skala, Toledo; Jack Faust, Salem, Oregon; James Faust, Stuart; and Mrs. John (Janet) Zody, Warminster, Pennsylvania; 27 grandchildren, eight step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters: Ida Nelson, Greenfield; Alice Nash, Covina, California; Mae Beck, Escondido, California; one brother, John Faust, Mt. Ayr; other relatives and friends.

Services were held Monday, January 31, at the Fairview Congregational Christian church, with the Rev. George Thurman officiating. Casket bearers were George Eddy, Merlin Greene, Francis Hochstetler, Jasper Lenocker, Ross Morgan and Charles O’Brien.
