Elsie B. Snell, age 81, of Winfield, Kan., passed away Nov. 15, 2008, at Winfield Rest Haven.
She was born Nov. 30, 1926, on a farm near Patterson, Iowa, to William C. and Irene Fern (Wycoff) Fogler and was raised and educated in the Patterson area, graduating from Patterson High School in 1945. On July 30, 1950, she married Harry W. Snell. Following their marriage, they resided in Winfield. Harry died July 10, 1983. Elsie was a housewife most of her life. She was a member of Queen City Chapter 136 – Order of the Eastern Star and was presented with her 50-year pin and builders pin in 2001. She also was a member of the Winfield First United Methodist Church and Anna Ruth Circle.
She was preceded in death by Harry and a daughter, Virginia Irene Snell Crowe.
She is survived by a brother, Robert L. Fogler and wife Marjorie of Van Meter, Iowa; a niece, Janet Sue and Gaylon Dayton of Clive, Iowa; and two grandnephews and many friends.
Services were held today (Wednesday, Nov. 19) at the First United Methodist Church in Winfield. Burial was at Highland Cemetery, also in Winfield. Memorials may be directed to the Winfield First United Methodist Church.
