Obituary

Dr. H. R. Cochran, age 70, passed away on February 5, 1963 in the Sheldon Community Hospital following an illness of several weeks.

Dr. Cochran was born October 11, 1892 at Audubon. He was the son of Thomas and Alberta Cochran. After living in Missouri for a short time, his family moved to Earlham where Harry Robert Cochran was graduated from the local high school. Dr. Cochran received his degree in dentistry from Drake University in 1912. After a brief period at Spencer, Dr. Cochran moved his practice to Sheldon where he practiced continually for 47 years. When his health forced him to discontinue his practice, he retired in August of 1962.

Survivors are his wife, Pearl Cochran, and two children, Margaret Ann Thornburg of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Thomas R. Cochran of Los Angeles, California. Two grandchildren also survive.

Dr. Cochran was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Alberta Cochran, and his two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Ory and Mrs. Bernice Witt, all formerly of Earlham.

Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Smith, Wary Ory and Forrest Hibbs attended the services at Sheldon on Thursday, February 7. Burial was at East Lawn cemetery, Sheldon, Iowa.
