Obituary

Lloyd Compton was the son of Mr. Albert E. and Mrs. Clara S. Compton, and was born at Earlham, Iowa, August the 1st, 1896. He came with his father’s family to South Omaha in September 1901. Being an invalid in bodily health he was educated at home, and easily kept pace with the established grades of the public schools. Few surpassed him in the extent of his reading. He was familiar with and had read the Bible, the works of Hawthorne, Dickens, Cooper, Tales of Shakespear, and Sir Walter Scott. As to current literature on every day topics, none escaped him.

This brave manly little fellow fell asleep on the morning of Friday, September the 30th, aged 15 years and two months, “and was not for God took him.” Appropriate services were held from the Presbyterian church on Sabbath, October 1st, by his pastor, music by choir, and solo by Mrs. Anna M. Bratton. Interment at Forest Lawn.
