Mrs. Agnes P. Crosswait, daughter of Mark L. and Dema Nichols Thomson, was born January 17, 1876, at Worthington, Madison County, Iowa, and passed away April 24, 1970 at a Glendale, California hospital.
On October 26, 1892, at Earlham, she was united in marriage to Eugene M. Crosswait, who preceded her in death, March 20, 1950. To them were born seven children, all in Earlham, where most of her long life of 94 years, 3 months and 7 days was spent. Two children preceded her in death: Scott T. Crosswait, 1927, and Mrs. Marjorie Wedel, 1967.
The surviving children are Mrs. Irma Stillman, Glendale, California; Mrs. Esther Rose, Jefferson City, Mo.; Earle M. Crosswait, Sibley; Glenn D. Crosswait, Waterloo; and Lloyd B. Crosswait, Kansas City, Mo.
Mrs. Crosswait leaves two half-brothers, Robert Thomson, Ponca City, Oklahoma and Isaac L. Thomson, Valiant, Okla.; also two half-sisters, Mrs. Nellie McFadden, Tonkawa, Okla., and Mrs. Mary Thomson, La Canada, California.
There are 13 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was a lifelong member of the Earlham Methodist church of which her father was the leader in the founding and building of the first church.
Services were conducted Wednesday, April 29, at 3:oo p.m. at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Des Moines where her husband and son are interred.
