JANE P. CORNMAN

Jane P. Elser was born in Armstrong county, Pennsylvania, June 8, 1828 and departed this life Nov. 11, 1918, at the age of 90 years, 5 months, and 3 days.

In 1853, she was united in marriage to Lewis Cornman. To this union were born ten children, seven of whom are living. In 1882 Mrs. Cornman moved to Madison county from Illinois, with her husband. She has been a widow since the death of her husband in 1892 and leaves to mourn 7 children, 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Grandma, as she was generally called, was a loving mother and a good neighbor. She attended her church regularly until she became too old and feeble. In that time she lost her Christian experiences until four months ago she surrendered to Christ and trusted him to the very end. She bore pain with great patience. But she has gone to a home, where pain and sorrow can enter not. We cannot bring her back, but we can go to her.

Funeral services were held at the Oak Grove church, Wednesday, Nov. 13, conducted by Rev. Williams. The body was laid to rest by the side of her husband in the Pleasant View cemetery.
