Services for Edna Morris, 80, Earlham, who died June 14, 1989, at the Madison county Memorial Hospital, were held Saturday, June 17, at the Earlham Friends Church with the Rev. Eldon Cole officiating. Burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.

Born Oct. 4, 1908, in Fremont county, she was the daughter of Warren and Ida Marion Belt Briley. She attended school in McPaul, Iowa, and on Sept. 16, 1925 was married to Orville E. Morris in Onawa. They moved from Onawa to Fremont county, then to Madison county in 1925 where they engaged in farming until they retired in the mid-1970s.

Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and four brothers.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth and wife Pat, and Vernon and wife Joan of Earlham; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Laura Epperson of Mantica, Calif., and Mae Areburn of Stanton; brothers, Edward of Springfield, Ore, Marvin of Harrisburg, Ore., and Cecil and Willard, both of Yuma, Ariz.

Edna Morris, daughter of Warren E. Briley and Ida Marion Belt Briley, was born October 4, 1908 in Fremont County, Iowa. She passed away June 14, 1989 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset, Iowa.

Edna attended school in McPaul, Iowa. On September 16, 1925 she was united in marriage with Orville Edward Morris in Onawa, Iowa. To this union was born two sons, Kenneth and Vernon. They moved from Onawa to Fremont County, then to Madison County in 1925 where they engaged in farming until they retired in the mid 70’s.

Edna always enjoyed being outside working at her husband’s side. She also spent many hours making quilts and doing other fancy work.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and four brothers.

Her survivors include her sons, Kenneth Edward and wife Pat and Vernon Leonard and wife Joan of Earlham, Iowa; six grandchildren, Randy of Maxwell, Iowa, Rick, Carla and Kenny of Earlham, Iowa, Kathy of Winterset, Iowa and Becky of Prairie City, Iowa; six great granddaughters and five great grandsons; two sisters, Laura Epperson of Mantica, California and Mae Arterburn of Stanton, Iowa; four brothers, Edward Briley of Springfield, Oregon, Marvin Briley of Harrisburg, Oregon, Cecil and Willard Briley of Yuma, Arizona, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were conducted June 17, 1989 at the Earlham Friends Church, Earlham, Iowa with Reverend Eldon Cole officiating. Irene Cole provided organ music and Raymond Nuzum was soloist. Pallbearers were Randy Morris, Kenny Morris, Eugene Patterson, Rick Morris, Marty Houseman and Milton Vaughan. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa.
