CHANCEY WETZEL, Patterson

Services for Chancey Wetzel, 58, Patterson, who died June 16, 1989 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Monday, June 19, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Lautt officiating. Burial was at the Montpelier Cemetery at Patterson. The VFW held graveside rites.

Born in Klemme, Iowa, on July 12, 1930, he was the son of Ed and Daisy Perkins Wetzel. He was a self-employed carpenter and had lived in Madison county and Patterson since 1942. He married Mayola DeBok on March 17, 1952 at Winterset.

Mr. Wetzel was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the VFW post in Winterset and was a former member of the Patterson Lion's Club.

Survivors include his wife; sons, John of Cincinnati, Iowa and Jim of Winterset; a daughter Connie Allgood of Patterson; brothers, Everett Schreiber of Bloomington, Ill., and Cecil Wetzel of Winterset; sisters, Mabel Smith of Woodward, Mildred Fulkerson of Chariton, Wanda Janes of Phoenix, Ariz., Ruby Timme of Princeton, Ill., and Lela Quinland of Ankeny; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
