Wednesday, November 13, 1918Death of MRS. DELBERT CLARK
Mrs. Ruth Chapman Clark died shortly before midnight on Nov. 10, 1918, from internal hemorrhage. On Saturday morning she was taken sick, but nothing serious was anticipated. On Sunday, however, her physician found a marked change in her condition, and found that internal bleeding was in progress from a ruptured blood vessel. Nothing could be done to relieve her and she gradually weakened till death came.
Mrs. Clark was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Chapman, her birthplace being in Webster county 32 years ago. Fourteen years ago she was married to Delbert Clark, who with three little daughters, survives her.
From childhood, she was an earnest Christian, and for 17 years had been a loyal member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Clark, although very quiet and retiring, made many lasting friendships. Her deep devotion to friends and loved ones, was evident to all who came in contact with her in her daily life. In deeds, not words, she proved her Christian character. Her parents were with her at the time of her death. The deep sympathy of a community goes to the family, the motherless little children being especial objects of sympathy.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Church of Christ, conducted by Rev. E. L. Hosier.
