The death of Mrs. A. M. Knight occurred on Friday last at her home on the farm in Jackson township. The funeral was on Sunday, at one p.m., conducted by Rev. Rusk. A very large concourse of relatives and friends followed the body to the Winterset cemetery, where the burial took place. All of her children, with most of their married companions, and all of her grandchildren but one were present at the funeral. Mrs. Knight was sixty-one years of age. She came with her husband, the late M. A. Knight, from Vermont many years ago; settled for a short time in the northeastern part of Iowa, and from there moved to Madison county.

Mrs. A. M. Knight died at her home at 1:30 a.m. last Friday after a long illness. Mrs. Knight was an old resident of Madison county, having come here with her husband in 1867. She was stricken with paralysis in the spring of ’96 and had practically been an invalid since that time. She had been very low for three weeks past and for two or three days before her death was unconscious most of the time.

Mrs. Knight was a kind hearted Christian lady and leaves many dear friends to mourn her loss and extend their sympathy to the bereaved family. The funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon by Rev. A. H. Rusk and the remains were interred in the Winterset cemetery.
