Had Lived Entire Life in Madison and Warren Counties
Mrs. Bessie M. McCauley of St. Charles, life-long resident of Madison and Warren counties, died last Friday, September 27, at a Des Moines hospital. She was 79 years of age.
Mrs. McCauley was the former Bessie Marie Clark, daughter of Rufus and Susan Templeman Clark. She was born in Madison County June 28, 1884. She was married at Winterset on March 19, 1902, to Thomas McCauley. He preceded her in death as did one son, Thomas McCauley.
She was a member of the St. Charles Methodist Church.
Mrs. McCauley is survived by three sons and two daughters, Merle McCauley of Hawthorne, Calif., Mrs. Hazel Leach of St. Charles, Mrs. Lambert Brommel of St. Charles, Garold McCauley of Ackworth and Donald McCauley of Prole. She also leaves 15 grandchildren and 21 great grand children.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the St. Charles Methodist church with the pastor, the Rev. Howard Cho, officiating. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
