John Holden, a former proprietor of the Earlham Café, died at his home at Leadhill, Arkansas Monday.
After leaving Earlham, Mr. and Mrs. Holden operated a small highway café at De Soto for several years. Because of ill health, they moved to Arkansas.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at De Soto Methodist church. The body will be at the Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter until the services.
Contributions for a Memorial Fund for John Holden are being taken at the Jensen station at De Soto.

John Holden Sr. was born March 23, 1903 at Deadwood, South Dakota, and passed away August 16, 1965 at Harrison, Arkansas at the age of 62 years, 4 months and 24 days.
He leaves to mourn his wife Ethel, daughter Mrs. Harold Herrick of Grand Junction, son John Holden Jr. of Garwin, six grandchildren, one great grandson and four sisters, Mrs. Agnes Blackwell of Rittman, Ohio; Mrs. Esther Skog, Sacramento, California; Mrs. Lenna Burbage, Wadsworth, Ohio; Mrs. Goldie Lancaster, Lakewood, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 20, at the De Soto Methodist church.
