SHARON STREET, Winterset

Sharon Street, 44, of Winterset died Aug. 28, 2008, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A gathering with family will be held from 6–8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Burial will be on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe Reservation in the state of Nevada. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Sharon Street was born Dec. 9, 1963, in Nixon, Nev., to Ronald and Ardythe (Rhodes) Kochampanasken. She was married to Larry Street and had resided in the Winterset area since 1992. Sharon was a Native American craftsman as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary, and American GI Forum Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Gourd Dance Society and Pyramid Lake Paiute Indian Tribe.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Denny Kochampanasken.

She is survived by her husband, Larry, of Winterset; her mother, Ardythe Kochampanasken of Nixon, Nev.; two children, Carisa Kochampanasken Street of Anadarko, Okla., and Richard Street of Devils Lake, N.D.; four sisters; a brother; and four grandchildren.
