Obituary

Lafayette Emory Morrison, son of Franklin and Dora Marsh Morrison, was born in Anita, Iowa on December 31, 1885, and passed away at the Redfield hospital on September 28, 1963, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 28 days.

His early years were spent around Anita. On March 8, 1923, he was united in marriage to Hulda E. Cass of Menlo. To this union four children were born: Mrs. Joann Morris, Mrs. Frances Coffman, Robert Morrison, and Mrs. Betty Dunmire, all of Earlham. In 1959 three adopted children blessed their home, Sandra, Phillip and Terry Morrison.

In 1945 he and his family moved to Earlham where they made their home until 1962, when they moved to Redfield. Lafe had been in failing health for three years, and the past six months was confined to his bed.

He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife and children, 13 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Dottie Reeves of Atlantic, Iowa, and Mrs. Ada Smith of Anita, a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was held in the Earlham Friends church on Monday, September 30, at 2:00 p.m. The service was in charge of the pastor, L. Willard Reynolds. Fred Fry was the soloist, and Helen Ludwick the organist. Casketbearers were Merle Cass, Dean Cass, Keith Glover, Kenneth Rater, Gail Reeves and Paul White. Interment was in the Stuart cemetery. Roy Evans was the mortician in charge.
