Elizabeth Ann Woodward was born in Hendrix County, Indiana on August 28, 1833. At the age of 18 she was united in marriage to J.D. Turner on December 4, 1851. He preceded her to the Spirit world June 16, 1892.

She was a converted in early life, uniting at once with the M.E. Church of which she was always a faithful and consistent member saying not so much by words but by living her religion day to day, thus shedding an outside influence upon her family, neighbors, and friends witch will tell through all eternity, this being her daily life until July 18, 1907 when she closed her sightless eyes to open them upon that better shore where the blind receive their sight, and sickness and suffering never come.

During her sickness and affliction which extended over a number of years she never murmured nor complained but always expressed herself as ready and longing to meet her Savior and the loved ones gone on before.

Ten of her fifteen children survive her, being located in different state. The oldest son, John, is in La, Dayton and Ira in Kansas, Will and Charley in Minn, Walter in S.D., Albert in Ore., Jesse and Mrs Jennie Brock in IA and Mrs. Elma Hughes near North Salem, Missouri.

She was a good mother, a kind neighbor, and a consistent Christian and of such it can truly be said: "She rests from her labors and her works do follow her. "The funeral services took place the Dodge Center Church Monday July 22, at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Smith of Macksburg.

The body was then laid to rest by the side of her husband and children in the Macksburg cemetery.
