1950Rites Saturday For Ethel Stuart
Services for Mrs. Ethel Elizabeth Stuart, 53, formerly of Des Moines, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton’s funeral home. Burial will be in King cemetery, near St. Charles.
Mrs. Stuart died Monday in Los Angeles, Cal., where she had been living the last year. She had been in ill health three years. Born in Poweshiek county, she came to Des Moines in 1945.
Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hess of Winterset; five sons, Donald of Truro, Oral and Willis, both of Des Moines, and Floyd and Edward of Long Beach, Cal.; three daughters, Mrs. Esther Riddix of Long Beach, Cal., and Violet and Caroline, both of Los Angeles, Cal.; a brother Arnold Hess of Murray; four sisters, Mrs. Cassey Ogburn of West Des Moines, Mrs. Mable Clark of Truro, and Mrs. Myrtle Oglesbee and Mrs. Cletta Oglesbee, both of Winterset; and eight grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at the King cemetery Saturday afternoon, Nov. 4th for Mrs. Elizabeth Hess Stuart. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hess of the Elm Grove vicinity. She died in California, and the body was flown to Omaha and then came by train to Des Moines and arrived in town for burial Saturday afternoon beside her husband Carl Stuart who passed away several years ago. The body was accompanied here by one of her sons.
