Died.—Mrs. Hattie Johnson, wife of Charles Johnson, died Saturday morning at 11 o’clock, after a severe illness of some months. During her last sickness she had the comforting presence of her mother and sister, who, together with the good ladies of the neighborhood, did all in their power to make her comfortable. She bore her suffering with patience, supported by the grace and presence of the Savior in whom she trusted.

The funeral took place from the Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The service was conducted by Revs. Harris and Jacobs. Mrs. Johnson was born in Bethel, Michigan, in the year 1869, and married to Mr. Johnson in 1892.

Mrs. J. J. Johnson, of this city, whose severe and protracted sickness has been noted heretofore, died at her home last Saturday forenoon. The funeral occurred at the Baptist church Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A. Jacobs, assisted by Rev. F. Harris.

Mrs. Johnson’s sickness has been long and painful. Her husband and some of her relatives from abroad have been unremitting in their devoted attendance to her, and in their efforts to mitigate her suffering and to add to her comfort. However, for several weeks, it had been apparent that, so far as prospects of recovery went, it was a battle against hope. May the consolation that comes from a sacred sense of duty performed, as well as the assured hope of a future meeting, be theirs.
