Norma Virgene Egli, 81, died July 24, 2008, at Kavanagh House on 56th in Des Moines from pancreatic cancer.
A memorial service was held Sunday, July 27, at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Burial of her cremains was at St. Charles Cemetery.
Norma Egli was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Udell to Robert and Ada White. Following her graduation from high school, she moved to Des Moines to work for Bell Telephone. She later moved to Denver, Colo., transferring to Mountain Bell Telephone. In January of 1950, she married Calvin Benjamin Egli. Following her marriage, she continued to work at Mountain Bell for two more years, retiring following the birth of her first child.
She is survived by her husband, Cal, of St. Charles; two sons, James Egli of Arvada, Colo., and Tom Egli of Truro; one daughter, Kathy Egli of Milwaukie, Ore.; a sister, Wanda Underwood of West Des Moines; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
