Obituary

Last Sunday evening about 10 o’clock death entered the home of G. W. Kingery, of Monroe township, and took from the family the only son, Walter, aged 24 years. He had been grappling with that dread monster consumption for several months, but was at last compelled to submit to the inevitable. He was a son-in-law of J. E. Worthing, of Winterset. A little more than a year ago he was married, and leaves a loving wife to mourn the death of a kind husband.

From Kasson.

Walter Kingery, of Kasson, who has been sick the past three months, died recently at the home of his father. Deceased has lived in the vicinity for fifteen years, and was quite well known and highly respected, a young man possessing many noble traits of character, and his death has caused genuine sorrow. Elder Callison, from Winterset, preached the funeral sermon at the residence of Mr. George Kingery, from John, the eleventh chapter, thirty-sixth verse: “Behold, how he loved him.”

Note: Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
