Obituary
James Phillips, son of Daisy M. and John C. Phillips, was born at Paxton, Illinois on July 9, 1909.
He passed away February 27, 1967 at the Maple Lin Manor in Earlham, following a long illness. He was 57 years, 7 months and 16 days of age.
On July 4, 1936 he was united in marriage to Hazel Phillips at Adel, Iowa.
He was an active member of Earlham Friends church.
He was employed by Iowa Packing Company in Des Moines, until ill health forced him to retire.Surviving is his wife, Hazel; his mother, Daisy Bechtel; stepfather, John Bechtel; sister, Mrs. Kathryn Kees; two stepsisters: Mrs. Nelson Woods and Mrs. Vernon Carson; one step brother, Victor Bechtel; two nephews, Jack and Floyd Emehiser; and other relatives and friends.
Note: Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
