Zina, the bright little eleven-year-old daughter of W. B. and Mrs. Hodges, of this city, died at 4 o’clock on Tuesday morning. She was suffering from heart failure, of which she was a victim, and the end was hastened by a severe attack of la grippe or hard cold.
She was an unusually loveable child, and although delicate in health, constantly attended school. Through love for the deceased and respect for her parents, the teachers in the primary rooms, Misses Irvin and Guilliams, attended the funeral with their entire schools in procession.
The funeral was held at the Methodist church at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, of Wednesday, the 27th, the services being conducted by Rev. Vanatta. The remains were interred in the family lot, in the St. Charles cemetery, by sympathetic and sorrowing friends and neighbors.
