Mrs. Jos. Beerbower, of Crawford township, died unexpectedly at noon Wednesday. She had not been noticeably sick.

THE COUNTY NEWS - Lee and Elswhere

Another case of domestic unhappiness came to public ears when on Tuesday night Mrs. Joe Beerbower attempted suicide by taking poison. Medical aid was called and at this writing she is pronounced out of danger. Mr. Beerbower has lived on the Swift farm for the past two years.

Coordinator's note: Maiden name taken from 1891 Madison County Marriage Record. The Madisonian article that said she died was in error but no retraction was printed. Mrs. Beerbower did, in fact recover and obtained an 1899 Madison County divorce from Joseph. She remarried to a Charles W. Pyers in 1900 and can be found in the 1910 Madison County census.
