Mrs. William Corsbie, of Des Moines, who was visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Smith, in this vicinity, took sick with typhoid fever shortly after her arrival and died Sunday. Mrs. Corsbie was well known in this community and highly esteemed by all. She was a member of the M. E. church at this place in which she was ever an earnest and tireless worker. Her wedded life was of but short duration having been married only about eighteen months. The bereaved husband has the sympathy of all.

Died, at the home of her parents, in Scott township, Cora May Smith, January 17, 1897.

She was born Jan. 20, 1877, in Warren county, Iowa. With her parents she moved to this county when quite young, where she lived until Aug. 20, 1895, when she was married to W. L. Corsbie, of Des Moines, where they have lived ever since.

After caring for a brother-in-law, who had typhoid fever, she thought best to come home for a rest. She arrived home Jan. 2d, shortly afterward was confined to her bed and died Jan. 17, 1897 with typhoid pneumonia fever.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her savior, which was a great comfort to her during her illness. She often requested her friends to go with her and at other times she would say, “Mother I want you to go home with me.” She showed extreme patience and never a murmur during all her sickness saying it won’t be long.

While her many relatives and friends will miss her, yet they have the glorious hope of a happy union where sickness, suffering and death never come.
