Charles Kenneth Raymond, 55, of Knoxville, Iowa, died June 10, 2008, at the Kavanagh Hospice House on 56th in Des Moines.

Memorial graveside services were held Saturday, June 14, at Peru Cemetery with Chaplain Pilgrim officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements were handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Charlie Raymond was born May 29, 1953, in Fort Belvoir, Va., to Ray and Lillian (Greenfield) Raymond. His marriage to Susan Kay Riley took place Dec. 27, 2006, in Marion County. Charlie had been an over-the-road truck driver. He had resided in Knoxville for the past year, having previously lived in Missouri. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam era. He also was a member of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian, and a daughter, Tracy Wright.

He is survived by his wife, Sue, of Knoxville; his father, Ray Raymond of Winterset; his children — Charles Kenneth Raymond Jr., Chad James Raymond, Tawnya Marie Banda, and Bobby Joe Freeman; his stepchildren — Amanda Marie Coppick, Jason Allen Coppick and Lisa Pebbles; three brothers, Douglas Michael Raymond, Steven Brent Raymond, and Travis Hunnicut Raymond; and 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
