Alex Spillars, Winterset

Graveside services for Alex Spillers, 89, Winterset, who died April 19 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held at East Linn Cemetery in Redfield on Mon. April 23, with the Rev. Robert Farr Officiating.

Born in Dallas County on February 10, 1901, he was the son of Preston and Catherine Leeper Spillers. He was a lifetime farmer in Dallas County and was married to Mary Fleming on September 20, 1929 in Dallas County.

Mr. Spillers lived in Winterset since September 1982 after coming from rural Redfield.

Survivors include his wife and a sister, Susie Chiles of Greenfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and four sisters.
