Nora Etta Allen the daughter of Obdaiah and Mary Allen died at the home of her uncle Johnathan Allen near Prole, Warren county, Iowa July 30, 1901. She was born in Madison county Iowa June 20, 1880. At the time of her death she was 21 years 1 month 10 days old. She had been a cripple ever since young childhood.

She was sick about 7 weeks, during her last illness she was an intense sufferer bearing her sickness with patience and never complaining, but waited patiently till the end. She was ready and willing to go. Five years ago she united with the Methodist church August 23, 1896 of which she has been a faithful member ever since.

She was loved by all who knew her, making friends where ever she went.

She leaves a father, five brothers, one sister, two half sisters and two half brothers to mourn her loss. Her mother died several years ago.

The funeral was held at the Elm Grove church Wednesday July 31 by her pastor Rev. Proctor of Spring Hill circuit assisted by Rev. Palmer of St. Charles and Rev. Banson of East Peru. The sermon was preached from Job 14 chapter and a part of the 14th verse: “If a man die, shall he live again?”
