LEAVA A. ALLEN

Leava A. Beem was born at Indianapolis, Ind., on Jan. 7, 1852. When five years old, she moved with her parents to Madison county, Iowa. She was united in marriage to James M. Allen, Oct. 6, 1870, and to this union ten children were born, five of whom have preceded her in death.

She was converted about 35 years ago, during revival meetings at the Beem school house and later united with the Elm Grove M. E. church. She was in poor health for several months and after only a few days’ of serious illness she passed away at the home of her daughter, on Feb. 26, 1925, aged 73 years, 1 month, 18 days. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. T. W. Little of Winterset and four sons: Mines Allen of Winterset, Claude of Des Moines, Frank of Bloomington, Ill. and Shelton of New Mexico: also ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three brothers, three sisters and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Elm Grove church, conducted by Rev. C. L. Thomas and interment made at Sayre cemetery.

We wish to thank our friends and neighbors for the kindness shown us during the sickness and death of our mother. The Children
