OBITUARY

Wayne Ervin Davis, son of Geo. and Elizabeth Davis of Earlham, was born near Winterset on March 17, 1914, and passed away in St. Luke hospital, San Francisco, on July 22, 1960.

He grew to manhood in and near Earlham where he received his education in the Earlham school, graduating in the class of 1933. On November 16, 1934 he enlisted in the Navy serving four years. He served his country in the Navy three years during World War II and has made his home in California since that time.

He was married in April 1951 to Marion J. Thompson of San Francisco. They made their home in Daly City, California.

Episcopalian services were held in the Halsted Funeral Home on July 25, 1960. Interment was in the Golden Gate National Cemetery.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Marion, his parents George and Elizabeth Davis, two brothers Marion C. of Des Moines and Carl H. of Bakersfield, Calif., two sisters Mable Brooker of Rockford, Ill. And Lavonne Vaughan of Creston, his mother-in-law Lillian Thompson who made her home with them, several nephews and nieces and many other relatives and a host of friends.
