LUIE WALTZ Of Winterset Dies

Luie E. Waltz of Wintersest died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1959, at Veteran's hospital in Des Moines. He was 64 years of age.

Mr. Waltz had been a resident of Madison county for 48 years. He was employed for nearly 19 years by M. Young and company, and for 13 years by the Farmers Elevator. He had been retired recently, because of ill health.

He was a native of Argenta, Ill., where he was born April 15, 1895, a son of William and Emma Ventries Waltz. He was married at Newton on Feb. 28, 1920, to Lucy Averille, who survives him.

He also leaves four sons, Eugene Waltz of Winterset, Myles and Lloyd Waltz of Des Moines, and Johnny Joe Waltz, at home; four daughters, Ruby Werkum of Des Moines, Annabell Hutt of Des Moines, Marjorie of Los Angeles, and Janice of Winterset; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Emerald Waltz of Perry; and four sisters, Jewel Dick of Perry, Grace Herman of Earlham, Ruth Young of Des Moines and Francis Pratt of Winterset.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Charles Updike and the Rev. Arthur Nagel. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery, with military honors by Green Rogers post of the American Legion.
