HATTIE ROWLEY Of Winterset Dies

Mrs. Hattie Purscell Rowley of Winterset died Friday, May 11, 1973 at Madison Manor South here. She was 83 years of age.

Mrs. Rowley was the former Hattie Mabel Howard, daughter of George W. and Sarah Moore Howard. She was a life-long resident of Wintersest. She was married July 3, 1907 to James M. Purscell who preceded her in death. Four of her children, Dorothy, Robert, Fred and Everett, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are four sons, Joe Purscell of Tampa, Florida, Guy Purscell of Des Moines, Lewis Purscell of Colfax and Lawrence Purscell of Sacamento, California; in addition to 22 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers, Alfred Howard of Indianola and John Howard of Winterset; and a sister, Mrs. Vera Welshons of Des Moines.

She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. H E. Borum, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
