Page 5A most heartrending accident occurred last Monday at the home of John McCleary, of Jefferson township. Mrs. McCleary was doing the family washing, and had left the machine for a moment to go to the pump, when a little child of the family, less than a year old, pulled the stopper out of the washing machine, and was deluged with boiling water. The little one was so badly scalded that it died Tuesday morning.
