Pg 5Mrs. Nancy Burd, widow of William H. Burd, one of the early settlers at old Stringtown, died Tuesday at Storm Lake, at the home of her son-in-law, J. A. P. Harlan. The remains were brought to Winterset yesterday, and today interred in the Stringtown cemetery, where her husband and several members of the family were placed to rest. Mrs. Burd was well advanced in years, probably about eighty. She will be familiarly remembered by the older residents of the northwest part of this county.
