Obituary.

Cora May Miller was born in Winterset, Jan. 19, 1875. As an only daughter of doting parents, her life was carefully sheltered and tenderly cherished.

Her childhood and early school days passed unmarked by any striking events, the leading traits of her character displaying themselves in a gentle, affectionate and home-loving disposition.

About nine years ago she passed through a protracted illness, from which she seems never to have fully recovered.

A severe attack of the grip during last winter left her in an enfeebled condition, and she soon passed beyond the reach of human skill.

The remaining months of her life were passed in great and unremitting suffering, until at last, Thursday evening, July 16, at 6:30 o’clock, her worn and wearied spirit found the rest for which she longed.

While never making an open profession of her faith in Christ, she believed she found her Savior during a series of meetings in progress during the early winter of ’89 and ’90. Reticent to her religious feelings and experiences, she seems yet to have retained her trust in her risen Lord, expressing herself in those closing hours as not afraid to die, and longing to be at rest.
