KIRSTEN STONEBARGER, Winterset

Kirsten K. Stonebarger, 45, of Winterset died of renal failure May 11, 2008, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 15, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset. Visitation is from 1–8 p.m. today (Wednesday, May 14) at the church, with family present to receive friends from 6–8 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Crisis Intervention and Advocacy Center in Dallas, Guthrie and Madison counties (P.O. Box 40, Adel, IA 50003). Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.

Kirsten Stonebarger was born May 10, 1963, in Iowa City to Jim and Pat (Ryan) Nelson. She was a graduate of Winterset High School and later served in the United States Army. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children, Ashley Nelson of Detroit, Mich., and Haley Stonebarger and Colton Stonebarger, both of Cedar Rapids; parents, Jim and Pat Nelson of Winterset; a sister, Stephne Nelson of Winterset; two brothers, J. Scott Nelson of Fresno, Calif., and Ryan Nelson of Hastings on Hudson, N.Y.; and one granddaughter.
