Roy Charles McCarl, 77, of 3629 E. Sheridan Ave. died of renal failure Friday at Veterans Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Young Cemetery in Truro.

Mr. McCarl was born in Osceola and had been a cook at Veterans Medical Center. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby; three daughters, Mary Lee Crutcher and Lyn Asleson, both of Des Moines, and Judy Sydell of California; three brothers, Jim of Des Moines, Jack of Osceola and Glen of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Frances Snyder of Iowa City and Vera Lake of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon Monday at Kale Funeral Home in Truro, where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m.
