Last Monday the remains of James Childers, of Pacific Junction, Iowa, were buried in the Winterset cemetery, arriving on the noon train. Deceased was the victim of a very sad accident, having been kicked in the forehead by a horse and instantly killed. He lived in Winterset some twelve years ago and his two brothers, W. M. and Joel Childers, live here now. His wife died some time ago and left two children to his care, who by his sad death are left orphans. They will make their home with William Childers of this place.

The body of Jas. Childers, a former resident of Winterset, was brought here for burial the first of this week. His home was at Pacific Junction, where he lost his life last week by the kick of a vicious horse. He was a son of Benjamin Childers, recently deceased, and a brother of William and Joel.

KILLED BY A KICK

James Childers Killed by a Vicious Horse at Pacific Junction

James Childers, a brother of Wm. and Joel Childers, of this city, was instantly killed n a livery barn at Pacific Junction by a kick from a vicious horse. Childers was working in the barn and was currying it. It struck him full in the face and he never spoke afterward.

The funeral was held at Pacific Junction and the body was sent here for burial. It was expected Saturday evening but it did not come, arriving at noon Monday. There was no funeral held here.

James Childers was about 45 years old and lived here many years. He left about twelve years ago. He was married and had three children.
