WILLIAM ARMSTRONG, Arkansas

William Wayne Armstrong, 68, of Green Forest, Ark., and formerly of Milo, Iowa, died of cancer April 6, 2008, at Eureka Springs Hospital in Eureka Springs, Ark.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2–4 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the American Legion Hall, 105 W. 1st Ave., Indianola. Burial of the cremains will take place at St. Charles Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Wayne’s memory to his family.

Wayne Armstrong was born May 11, 1939, in Madison County to William Pete and Ella Fern (Cole) Armstrong and grew up in St. Charles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harley; and three sisters, Dorothy, Fern, and Bonnie.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; four daughters, Sandra Johnson of Columbia, Mo., Sheryl Armstrong of Olathe, Kan., Diana Flair of Omaha, Neb., and Michelle Armstrong of Des Moines; three sons, Mike Armstrong of Indianola, Bobby Armstrong of Green Forest, Ark., and Matthew Armstrong of Des Moines; a brother, Bob Armstrong of Portland, Ore.; four sisters, Hattie O’Brien of Kansas City, Kan., Beulah (Jean) Veasman of Indianola, Shirley Addy of Marshalltown, and Janet Strable of Wick; and 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
