Mr. J. S. Rhodes, one of the pioneer citizens of Madison county, died at his home in the southwest part of the city last Saturday. The remains were taken to the cemetery near his former home, some eight or ten miles south of the city. Mr. Rhodes is the father of P. M. Rhodes, who resides near the Ord P.O. The funeral services were held at Union Chapel.
