ETHEL MARLENEE, Panora

Ethel Marlenee, 92, daughter of Robert and Ella (Richey) Still, was born July 1, 1915 in Guthrie County, Iowa. She passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.

She attended Guthrie County schools. She married Raymond Baker in 1934. They lived mostly on a farm near Patterson, Iowa. Raymond passed away in 1955. On August 27, 1960, she married Glen Marlenee in Des Moines. They made their home in Panora. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, traveling, playing cards, and especially loved family gatherings. Glen passed away in 2006.

Ethel is survived by her daughters, Pat (Verdis) Williams of Farmington, MN, Lola (Gary) Grandstaff of Adair, Beverly (Vern) Roberts of Des Moines, Sandra (Homer) Cowger of Pueblo, CO; and son, Randy Baker of Panora; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Still of Panora.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Raymond Baker; second husband, Glen Marlenee; sisters, Edna Doyle, Etta Thompson, Edith Thornburg; and brother, Carl Still.

Graveside services will be 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Winterset Cemetery, Winterset, Iowa. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2008 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Beidelman-Twigg Funeral Home, Panora.
