A. M. Meacham of Jackson township died early Monday morning at the state hospsital at Clarinda, where he was taken a few weeks ago.
A few years ago, he was severely injured in a fall. Following a long illness his mind failed and a few weeks ago he was taken to Clarinda in that he might receive better care than was possible to give him here.
He was among the earlier settlers of Jackson township, coming here in 1878, and was 78 years of age at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife and seven children. Two sons, John A. and Frank Meacham, and one daughter, Virgie Wright, reside in the county, and the others reside in Montana and Idaho.
Services under the auspices of the Masonic order were held from West Star church today and burial was at the Penn Center cemetery.
