Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter for Florence Lela Allen, 98, of Woodbury West Health Care Center, 1211 Vine St., West Des Moines. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery at Booneville. Mrs. Allen died of pneumonia Monday at home.
She was born in Madison County and lived in West Des Moines since 1981. She formerly lived most of her life in Madison and Dallas counties and had been a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons Willis of Grinnell, Ralph “Mike” of Winterset and Donald Dee of Booneville; three daughters, Beulah Paullin of West Des Moines, Dolly Anderson of Des Moines and Maxine Newburn of Windsor Heights; 26 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 7to 9 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Booneville United Methodist Church.

June 1988VAN METER—A funeral for Florence Lela Allen, 98, of Woodbury West Care Center at West Des Moines was held June 16, 1988 at Fisher Funeral Home here. Mrs. Allen died of pneumonia on June 13 at the care center. Burial was in the Booneville Cemetery at Booneville.
The daughter of John and Emily Hubbard, she was born Dec. 22, 1889 in Madison County. She married Thomas J. Allen on Oct. 9, 1907. She had lived in Madison and Dallas counties most of her life and moved to West Des Moines in 1981. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Melvin and Darrell, and a daughter, Opal.
