ELIZABETH EDWARDS, Winterset

Elizabeth Mary Edwards, 85, of Winterset died March 6, 2008, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

A Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, March 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset. The body was cremated following the service. Memorials received will be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel & Funeral Services in Winterset.

Elizabeth Edwards was born Sept. 11, 1922, in Sioux City to D.W. and Alice (Lennon) Harper. A resident of Winterset since 1966, she taught first grade in the Winterset School District from 1966 until 1976. She also taught school in Gray and Anita. Elizabeth was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Rosary Society and TOPPS.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Navy Lt. Robert Bruce Harper.

She is survived by two sons, Harper Williams of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Mark Williams of Afton; a sister, Janet Turner of Hot Springs, Ark.; and five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
