Dollie Edith Clampitt, a native of Madison County and a resident here until 1971, died Friday, April 16, 1976, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, Iowa. She was 89 years of age.
Born January 20, 1887, Mrs. Clampitt was the daughter of Lemuel Davis and Emily Quote Davis. Her marriage to Robert Lee Clampitt took place December 26, 1908 in Marshalltown, Iowa.
A housewife, Mrs. Clampitt was affiliated with the Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. L. H. Burger of Ames and Mrs. Emily Haines of Des Moines, a son, Donald Robert Clampitt, five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dollie Clampitt were conducted Monday, April 19, from Collins Funeral Home in Winterset at 2 p.m., the Rev. Eldon Jandebeur officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
