Wednesday, September 29, 1971TONY STRUNK of Winterset Dies
Tony Strunk of Winterset, a retired farmer, died Tuesday, September 21, at the Horton Nursing home here. He was 80 years of age.
Mr. Strunk was a native of Carroll county, where he was born Jan. 4, 1890, a son of Mathias and Amelia Spieker Strunk.
He was married at Rockwell City on Feb. 8, 1922, to LaVerne Wessel, who survives him.
Mr. Strunk's active life was spent in farming. He served in the U. S. armed forces during World War I, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Maxine Kackley of Webster City, Mrs. Mildred Wenck of Peru, and Mrs. Molly Martin of Webster City; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, John Strunk of Lake City, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Bauer of Eagle Grove.
Funeral services were held last Friday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. J. R. Baumgarn. Burial was made at Lake City.
