Funeral services were held last Thursday from St. Patrick's Catholic church in Lee Township for Lawrence "Larry" King, whose death had occurred Monday, Sept. 20, 1971, in Winterset. He was 87 years of age.
Mr King was a retired Lee township farmer, who had moved to Winterset in 1960. He was a life-time resident of the county, a son of Lawrence and Ellen Connors King of the Irish settlement. Five brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Harley Drotts of Denver, Colo.; and two grandsons.
Rosary was recited for the deceased last Wednesday evening from the Collins Funeral home and requiem Mass was conducted Thursday from St. Patrick's Catholic church in Lee township by the Rev. Lawrence Beeson. Burial was made in St. Patrick's cemetery.
