E. B. Baker was born Jan. 4, 1855 in Jefferson county, Wisconsin and died Dec. 1, 1921, aged 66 years, 10 months and 27 days.
He came to Madison county in 1879 and has since been a resident of this community. On Dec. 17, 1899, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Ida Chase. To this union were born five children, four of whom preceded him in death.
He had been a member of the North River United Brethren church since 1888. Mr. Baker was neighborly and honest and led a quiet honorable life.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ida Baker; one son, Fred; a stepson, Joseph Chase; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Arthur Stump; one brother, Rufus Baker; one sister, Mrs. Banker; four grandchildren and many friends to mourn his departure.
Funeral services were held in the U. B church at North River, Rev. N. A. Hollingshead officiating. Interment was made in the cemetery adjacent to the church.
