George Garretson, an old resident of Winterset, and among the early settlers, died at his home in the east part of town last Wednesday, of congestion of the lungs, aged about 60. He was a teamster by occupation, and a manageable, industrious man.
He leaves, besides his present wife, a son and daughter by his first wife, who are now living somewhere in the west, a daughter, Zetta, the wife of John Burton, and two step-sons, Richard and Henry Thompson.
The funeral will be to-day at 3 o’clock.

George Garretson, a well known citizen, died at his home in the est part of the city Wednesday afternoon, of lung fever. He had recently returned from Missouri where the went with the intention of selling horses but returned without doing so.
He was many years in the employ of one of the lumber years, but had recently given up his place and had decided to temporarily leave Winterset but, after looking over Missouri, he abandoned the project and came home about a week ago.
George Garretson was a sober, honest industrious man, highly esteemed by all who knew him.
The funeral will occur Friday.
