BENJAMIN MORGAN

Benjamin Morgan was born near Coleford, England, May 3, 1861. Here he grew to young manhood, leaving his native country at the age of 20, and coming to the United States, being the year 1881 and arriving just after President Garfield was shot.

He settled near Bryant, Ill. where he made his home for time. He was married to Mary Ann Jenkins at Louiston, Ill., May 17, 1892 and to this union was born a daughter, Mrs. Floyd Fredrick of Colfax, Iowa. He moved from Illinois to Iowa in 1897, establishing their home at Colfax, where he lived until coming to Winterset,two years ago last December.

In his early life he became a member of the Church of England, and during the last days of his suffering and illness, which had covered a period of 17 years, he often prayed and wished that he might be released from the sufferings of this world.

His death occurred on April 28, 1921, at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 25 days. He leaves to mourn his death, the companion, one daughter, a grandson and many friends.

The funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon by Rev. Jackson Giddens and the remains laid to rest in the Winterset cemetery.
